In the role of General Counsel for the various Daniels entities, his responsibilities included legal affairs related to several sports-related holdings, including automobile racing enterprises, the USFL, Daniels’ partial ownership of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Prime Ticket Network, the regional cable television sports network for Southern California.

As General Counsel of this latter entity (which subsequently became Fox Sports West), Julian worked on a broad panoply of production, rights acquisition and distribution-related transactions, as well as financings, litigation management and operational issues. Julian subsequently joined the law firm of Cole Raywid & Braverman as Counsel in their El Segundo, CA office, where his practice focused on representing start-up cable programming ventures with respect to their organizational, financing and transactional issues as well as dealing with cable television operators franchise and other regulatory compliance issues.  He also served as a volunteer mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court, the California Court of Appeal and the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Services.

At Channel Law Group, Julian continues to work on entrepreneurial transactional matters, intellectual property licensing and environmental, land use and real estate matters, as well as the firm’s primary areas of telecommunications-related real estate and regulatory matters and litigation.  He has appeared in state and federal courts across California, including the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He was one of the founding members of the Board of Directors and the initial Chairman of the Regulatory Committee of the California Wireless Association and is former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Long Beach Grand Cru, a fundraising arm of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Laurel Canyon Land Trust.  Julian has a life-long passion for technology.  He was one of the original beta testers of the Lexis system in 1977, still owns a working model of the first Compaq portable computer (complete with a copy of Microsoft Word for DOS 1.0) and serves as the firm’s de facto IT manager. A native of Savannah, Georgia, Julian lives in the Los Angeles South Bay area.
